Molly is a junior at Pope High, a member of the varsity volleyball team and a dedicated student and athlete. She has also volunteered for Johnson Ferry Baptist mission trips, Must Ministries, Hosea Feed the Hungry, Beta and Interact Clubs and Shop with a Greyhound for underprivileged elementary children. At last count, Molly raised $500 for cystic fibrosis and $955 for Helping Hands.
Molly’s uncle, Patrick Fann, and brother, Kris Stricklin, built a 6 1/2 foot tall Eiffel Tower with lights for photos. Other family helping with the party were Amie Fann, Christen Stricklin, Kayla Fann and Sophia Fann along with one of Molly’s best friends, Emily Munzing. Molly received a beautiful painting of a rose with the Lord’s Prayer from her brother, Matthew Chafin, who was unable to attend.
Among the attendees were: Jenny and Coach Bryan Jones and Bryce Jones, Lori and Assistant Pope Volleyball Coach Brian Woolsteen, Laura and Triple Crown Beach Coach Shaun Catlin, and Kori and former softball Coach Matt Kristufek, along with teammates, friends and family.
Molly is the daughter of Gwen Chafin-Angle and Craig Chenggis of Marietta and Dewel and Noemi Angle of Haines City, Fla.
Registration is now open for the Harrison Youth Basketball league. This is a recreational league run by Harrison High School for boys and girls in grades 1-12 in the northwest Cobb County area. Practices will start in late October, and the season runs through February. HYBA is affiliated with the Atlanta Hawks and as part of participation, all players receive one free ticket to an Atlanta Hawks game and discounted tickets for their family.
