ATLANTA (AP) — Student musicians from the Atlanta area are set to perform alongside members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.

The Side-By-Side Concert at Atlanta Symphony Hall on June 27 will mark the end of an intensive four-day orchestral workshop. About 55 student musicians are set to participate.

The workshop lets the students participate in special coaching sessions with symphony musicians, sit next to orchestra members during rehearsals and receive nearly 20 hours of musical instruction from staff conductor Jere Flint. Students will also be paired with an Atlanta Symphony musician who will serve as their mentor throughout the entire workshop.

The concert will feature the Prelude to Wagner's Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Bizet's Carmen Suite No. 1, and selections from Stravinsky's The Firebird and Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, among other pieces.
