How ironic that on the day after “Independence Day” you run a story about the $800,000 Kennesaw jail renovation funded by seized property. The fourth paragraph of your story reads:

“Under this program, police can legally seize a person’s property if it is believed to be connected to possible illegal activity, even if no crime has taken place.”

So, please tell me why we celebrate “Independence Day” again? How is this different than how kings and dictators treat their “subjects”?

This should send a chill up the spine of every truly free American. We have to stop government from trampling our rights at every opportunity. We have to ask the people we will vote for where they stand on issues such as this. We have to demand better representation.

It’s now or never. Wake up, America!
