WASHINGTON (AP) — Senate Republicans, backed by rural-state Democrats, blocked legislation Wednesday to tighten restrictions on the sale of firearms, rejecting personal pleas made by families of the victims of last winter's mass elementary school shooting in Newtown, Conn.

Attempts to ban assault-style rifles and high capacity ammunition magazines also faced certain defeat in a series of showdown votes four months after a gunman killed 20 elementary school children and six staff members at Sandy Hook Elementary.

The background check measure commanded a majority of senators, 54-46, but that was well short of the 60 votes needed to advance. Forty-one Republicans and five Democrats sided together to scuttle the plan.

Hobby Lobby Sez No
|
April 18, 2013
The Hobby Lobby, aka the NRA, says "No you cannot restrict whatsoever the hobby of the hobbyists to whom we sell no matter the consequences, both intended and unintended, of the hobby"

To that we must all say "VOTE THE GUNS OUT"

Midterm elections are next year.

VOTE THE GUNS OUT IN 2014 and 2016 and 2018 and 2020.

Romney's 1% buddies should not stay in the 1% selling the guns that are used SO EASILY to kill us in the 99%.

One nut with two bombs killed three in Boston. He would have had a far higher fatality count with a single AK-47.

Why do we want to allow a hobby with components that are so dangerous?

Not all guns are legal to own. There is already a line. We are talking about where that line is, and it very clearly is not in the right place.

VOTE THE GUNS OUT IN 2014.

It’s all about taking your second amendment rights and only that. I’m still looking for the place were you buy guns without sending them to a FFL dealer I guess Czar Obama knows those places. Probably because of his connections with FAST & Furious, Bill Ayers and being from Chicago he knows about all those gun dealers that sells guns in that fashion. We are still waiting on the Bengasi full investigation and if you’re a victim of Boston don’t look for much help there the Saudi that was detained is now being deported I’m sure it’s not a cover up like Bengasi!! Obama might send thrills up Chris Mathew’s leg Obama send chills down my back!!
