The Senior Members Golf Association of Marietta Country Club recently conducted the George "Tiddle" Richards 2nd annual Club Championship in honor of Richards, now deceased. The beautiful fall weather drew 20 seniors to honor their friend's memory as well as their 35 years together at the Marietta City Club and MCC.

George's wife, Joyce Ann Richards, enjoyed listening to golfers reminisce about Richards' consistently low scores in the 70-range and the three holes-in-one he accomplished after walking 18 holes.

Tom Roberts captured the trophy leaving other golfers, including George's son, Greg, justifiably impressed with the winning score of 64. Players were split into three flights with Neal Peavy and Fred Glantzberg as winners of the remaining flights.

Golfers included: event chair Lou Bangert, Fred Borders, Harry DuPre, Fred Glantzberg, Bob McCollum, Neal Peavy, Greg Richards, Tom Roberts, Phil Settlemyer and Hugh White.

Kyle Kirby and Kyle Ciotti, 2009 graduates of Kell High School, were recently initiated into the Delta Chapter of the Sigma Chi fraternity at the University of Georgia.

Kirby is the son of Ann and Mark Kirby of Acworth, and Ciotti is the son of Karen and Edward Ciotti of Marietta.
