Mrs. Azalee “Peggy” Hubbard Strickland age 95 of Mableton, passed away Friday, Oct. 11. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14 at Carmichael Funeral Home Chapel in Smyrna with Rev. Jerry Slate, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta. Mrs. Strickland was married for 75 years to her loving husband Grover T. “Strick” Strickland before his death in 2010. She loved traveling and seeing the world. She and Strick spent three years in Iran and a year in France, Germany and other countries. She spoke French, played the piano, painted and made sculptures. She was a longtime member of Smyrna First Baptist Church and a member of the Joy Sunday School Class. Surviving are: son & daughter-in-law Michael & Ellen Strickland of Hiram, two grandchildren & spouses Angela & Jerry Slate of Powder Springs, Jeff & Stephanie Strickland of Cumming, six great-grandchildren Samuel, Luke, Grace, Jackson, Malachi & Margaret. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13 at Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna (770) 435-4467
