Does anyone but me smell anything rotten? In less than a month, we have seen a deal to bring the Atlanta Braves to Cobb by our Board of Commissioners without public input and now we have seen the approval of a tax incentive request approved by the Authority and Board of Tax Assessors. All this approved and putting the burden on the backs of the taxpayers of Cobb.

Both of these deals were completed to help two billionaires, (one company and one individual) get assistance in doing something both could easily afford.

It looks like there may be a rat in the woodpile. Could it be that someone or some group are also getting some incentives from these two deals that were rushed through with no input from the citizens?

While I don't like this deal either, you should at least get your facts in order if you're going to comment and assign blame. The tax Assessors only set/confirm the valuation of the property on the county records, just like they do for any other. They have no say in approving the tax abatement.
