David Allen Heath Jr. of Powder Springs was found guilty of rape, six counts of child molestation, two counts of aggravated child molestation, two counts of incest, two counts of statutory rape and two counts of enticing a child for indecent purposes.
The 32-year-old Heath, who faces life in prison without the possibility of parole, was originally arrested in August 2010.
Cobb Superior Court Judge Reuben Green has not set a sentencing date.
“This defendant built a trust with all of these children, and turned that trust against them in the worst way possible,” said Assistant District Attorney Chuck Boring, the lead prosecutor in the case.
“The victims in this case will be forever changed by the violation they suffered at the hands of David Heath Jr., but hopefully this conviction will bring some sense of closure to that part of their lives.
Now that the jury has held him accountable for his terrible acts, I anticipate that he will never again have the chance to harm another child.”
Assistant District Attorney Susan Treadaway assisted in the prosecution.
The trial began March 18 with jury selection. The jury deliberated just under an hour Monday morning before returning with the verdict of guilty on all counts.
Marietta attorney Justin Wyatt was appointed to represent Heath, who is already serving time in state prison for drug, theft and other previous convictions in Cobb County.
