Faith Maxine Reid, 12, resident of Powder Springs was received into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 7, 2013. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends who Faith had touched in some small way throughout her short, yet, very memorable life. Faith’s bright smile could melt the hearts of those around her and though she never spoke a word, her voice and thoughts could always be heard. She was a student at Lovingood Middle School in Powder Springs and a proud member of a team in the Horizon baseball and kickball league in Acworth. Although Faith’s disabilities caused her to face many hurdles in life, she possessed strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges. With her courage she reminded us that each day is a blessing from God and an opportunity to create lasting memories. She loved to feel the wind on her face whether it was on a boat, riding high upon her daddy’s shoulders or swinging in her backyard. She enjoyed reading Dr. Seuss, listening to music, going to school, and looking at magazines. Her parents strived to give Faith every opportunity that any child could hope for and dedicated their lives to caring for this precious angel. Faith is survived by her loving parents, Michael and Lauren Reid of Powder Springs; siblings, Burke and Lilly Reid; maternal grandparents, Anthony Raxter of Marietta and Stephanie Raxter of Woodstock; paternal grandparents, Thomas and Patricia Reid of Marietta; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. They will miss her greatly and carry her in their hearts always. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home Macland Chapel in Powder Springs. The Funeral will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, November 11 at Due West United Methodist Church, 3956 Due West Road, Marietta, with a reception at the Church following the service.
