DEAR EDITOR:

It is apparent that our arrogant president has absolutely no serious interest in stopping the United States from going off the fiscal cliff. His idea of negotiating is, “I won. You lost. You come over to my side.”

The Republicans seem to be concerned that the media will hang this mess around their necks. They should know by now that the corrupt media is going to blame whatever happens on them anyway. They always do.

I recommend that the GOP refuse to give an inch. Let the president own this mess. After all, he created it.

The U.S. will go into another severe recession, unemployment will go even higher, our military will be made even weaker, causing our enemies to punk us on every occasion.

Let those who foolishly voted for this incompetent personally experience the pain of their bad decision. Yes, we will all suffer, but we’re going to anyway. Put the blame where it belongs, on the Socialist in Chief.

Don Spruill

Mr. Spruill's staggering ignorance is shared by a lot of low information voters who know little and think less. The so-called "fiscal cliff" was created by the bipartisan "gang of eight," not the president.

In the unlikely event the country goes over the cliff, the blame will be shared by all.

Ah Foley, I see you liked my "low information voters" tag so well that you hijacked it. I am disappointed Kevin, and here I thought you were always original.

I am sure that O. gets up with a big smile on his face everyday! He has his second term, no holds barred and at last, his dream can be realized. The bringing down of the world's most powerful country. No more "exceptionalism" for America, we have Obama instead.

Do you even know what a socialist is? You use the word in your title, yet you fail to discuss any economic or political theory in your letter.

Spreading misery equally.
