Solipsism? I’ve never heard the word before, until I read the Rev. Dr. Nelson Price’s weekly diatribe, (or so it seems), against President Obama in Sunday’s MDJ.
Dr. Price is not aggressive with the words he uses when he writes his articles. He is very articulate, calm and comes across like a teacher speaking to his students. But the danger is that his message is more subtle, and the more you repeat it, the more people believe it.
In this article, Dr. Price says that solipsism means “that the whole world is Me or the whole world thinks like Me.” He uses it to compare President Obama and President Putin of Russia.
He goes on to say that Putin acts like the “cold and cunning KGB colonel that he was” and President Obama acts like “a community organizer, however that is” referring, of course, to Obama’s supposed following of Saul Alinsky’s rules of community organizing, which has been severely criticized by so many of Cobb’s conservative Republicans as being socialistic. In other words, Price is calling Obama weak, amongst other things. All this because President Obama doesn’t want a military confrontation with Russia and is trying all diplomatic sanctions.
Is that what Dr. Price and the Republicans want, a military confrontation with Russia?
I’ve always felt that any leader in a church is always held to a higher standard than the rest of us. I don’t believe Dr. Price does that every time he belittles President Obama.
