Marcell Sibley of Smyrna faces charges after allegedly abusing his dog after becoming frustrated with the dog’s behavior.

Sibley reportedly became angry with the dog when the dog didn’t behave the way Sibley wished, according to the arrest warrant. Sibley then slapped the dog, put the dog in its kennel, and threw the kennel and dog off the second story of the Allround Suites hotel in Marietta, trapping the dog in the debris from the kennel, according to the arrest warrant. After throwing the kennel and dog onto the parking lot, Sibley allegedly proceeded to throw the kennel and the dog into the trash bin at the hotel. Police said Sibley said he thought the dog was dead when he threw it in the trash bin. When police arrived, the dog was reportedly alive and had blood in its mouth and suffered broken legs.

Sibley was arrested by the Marietta Police Department on June 28 and jailed on a $10,000 bond. He was charged with aggravated cruelty to animals, a felony.

Hoping that the dog is alright. It needs and desrves a good home. This monster needs to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law!

As a dog owner, how can people be so cruel. Reading this story made me almost tear up. I love dogs and I hope this sick man spends the rest of his life in jail. I also hope and pray that this dog gets a very loving home in the future and gets medically cleaned up

I will take the dog and give it a loving home. I certainly hope this dog is under medical care, sedated for trama, and will recover. I will pray for this animal. By animal, I mean the dog; not the human being.

Excellent. Let's keep convicting these thugs for the continuous abuse of animals. If they'll abuse an animal in this manner - what's to stop them doing the same to a child? Oh, wait, that too is getting very common! It's got to stop. What's it going to take? Maybe a yearly licensing program needs to be implemented (like a rabies tag) with a fee when you purchase a new pet. Any true animal lover would be happy and proud to pay for a license for their pet. A proof and assurance that you are committed to caring for the animal for the rest of it's life. The collected fee for the tag could go towards animal shelters and pounds.

Marietta's motto is "Buy low," so the Allround Suites hotel in Marietta sounds like the absolute PERFECT investment opportunity for the city.

We need some cash PRONTO so we can buy up this hot commodity and add it to our collection of city owned slums, because if we own enough slums, sooner or later, sexy young professionals will move to Marietta GA, the city known around the Southeast as the biggest single holder of run down dumps! That beats gigabit internet for $80 and/or walkability and/or bikeability and/or no requirement for owning your own car.
