A student at Lassiter High School faces a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge and a felony methadone possession charge.

Michael Ballard, 17, was arrested after Lassiter Assistant Principal Ashlynn Campbell reportedly found “a very small amount” of marijuana and “several tablets” of methylone in Ballard’s 2001 Nissan Pathfinder parked at the high school, according to an arrest warrant.

Ballard has been released from jail on a $5,000 bond.

@Move: I have a hobby. I can't move until I hit my quota for aggravated Repukes. I will add you to the list, thanks.

By the way, this kid's arrest will not have any impact at all on his behavior, nor will his parents. He will do what he wishes.

Colorado has the right idea. People want weed. It is less dangerous than alcohol. Any kid in high school can go buy what they want without difficulty. The jail cells are full of people who had a small amount on their person. Free up the cops from this time hog of arresting people because they had 6 joints in their pocket. I don't feel the same way about meth.

Weed is a gateway drug to the refrigerator.

You should try it, you would be less tense and you would sound less like a buttoned down dope.

Why exactly was the principal in this student's car?

Because while on school property, they have that right. It's the law.

I will bet that Ballard is the only high school student ever to bring some weed to school.

Clearly, your sarcasm minimizes the epidemic of drug use by minors......marijuana (whether you advocate it or not) has no place in a school.......and we have more than "weed" here........I would say that at the rate that parents aren't parenting and are allowing children to run amuck that soon kids will be running the show.....but I think we are already there

Lib in Cobb, are you ever going to attempt to say something remotely intelligent? And when are you packing your bags and leaving this state of Georgia that you loathe so much? You keep promising us that you will. Yet here you are...still trolling the MDJ and posting mindless drivel. Can't you find a hobby to keep yourself busy?

It appears by your inane post that you think it's peachy keen to bring pot and meth to school. Should someone have a bar set up in the parking lot, too? I bet you'd endorse your beloved illegals to hold a fundraiser for meth. The possibilities are endless, right? Geez

Thank you to the astute assistant principal who was on top of things, that led to this arrest.
