Officer Mike Bowman said a woman contacted police after two suspects reportedly approached her at Babies R Us in the 2900 block of Cobb Parkway a little after 1 p.m. on Friday and took her purse, valued at $3,000. They also took her wallet, valued at $400, and her keys, and then drove away in her white 2012 BMW.
The vehicle was later found but police are looking for the two suspects who are described as black men between the ages of 21 and 25, standing about 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches, weighing between 150 and 160 pounds and carrying silver pistols.
Bowman said car thefts account for up to 60 percent of all major crimes in Cobb. He said drivers should always lock their doors and take their keys when they leave their car, park in well-lit areas, near sidewalks or walkways, and never leave valuables in plain view, even if the car is locked. He cautioned motorists to always look around before getting out of their car and stay alert of their surroundings.
“It can be a preventable crime,” he said.
In returning to a vehicle, Bowman said to “walk with purpose to your car and stay alert, approach your car with your door key already in hand and be cautious of people who approach you.”

Does anyone see the clear difference between the Perimeter Mall/Dunwoody area, compared to the Cumberland Mall/Smyrna area?
Poor Vinings,.. has to really struggle to keep the Smyrna rif-raf away from devaluing their property.
Seems the criminals running Cobb & Smyrna have been too busy pocketing taxpayers money,.. instead of bringing their area up to higher standards.
Only fools are too blind to see.
So, the difference is that you lose your life in Dunwoody.
Much better idea then walking to your car with purpose. Get a concealed carry license today. Notice all the crimes lately?
