KENNESAW — A Powder Springs man was arrested by Cobb County Police on Aug. 16 after they say he robbed a man at his apartment in Kennesaw, east of Interstate 75.

Alan Sloan was charged with two felony counts of armed robbery and burglary for reportedly stealing the man’s 2007 Honda Accord, a Remington 870 shotgun and cellphone.

The victim told police that July 24 he was playing the card game spades in his apartment with a neighbor and two other men, according to the warrant. When the neighbor left, the two other men followed the man into his bedroom, pushed him to the floor, revealing a gun and knife in the struggle.

According to the warrant, the man said he was told not to move as the two men ransacked his apartment before fleeing in the victim’s car. The Cobb County Police Department recovered the car and processed it for evidence. The police discovered a black wallet with Sloan’s Georgia driver’s license inside.

The victim identified Sloan, who has a chest tattoo that reads “family first,” in a lineup.

The police listed the other suspect as “unknown” in the warrant. Sloan has been in custody since Aug. 16 without a bond.
