A Powder Springs couple is accused of duct taping two children as a form of punishment.
Sean Patrick Sterling and Shawnna Leigh Huntley, both 35, were arrested last Friday and charged with two counts each of second-degree cruelty to children.
Sterling, who is identified as Huntley’s fiancé in the arrest warrant, was also charged with two counts of false imprisonment.
He was released from the Cobb County Jail on a $75,000 bond Saturday and Huntley remains in jail on a $25,000 bond.
According to arrest warrants, Huntley is accused of letting Sterling “hog tie” her 14-year-old and 8-year-old sons, by tying them to chairs using duct tape and locking them in their bedrooms for an “extended period of time" between Dec. 25, 2012, and March 7 at the couple’s home in the 4200 block of Meadows Lake Trail in Powder Springs.
The warrant also states that Huntley and Sterling knew the children were previously abused physically and did not get them treatment.
Officer Mike Bowman said that since the investigation is ongoing and active, they are unable to release any more information at this time.
