The firm now has more than 1,700 attorneys in 23 offices in the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
Before Tuesday’s announcement, Reed Smith had Asian offices in Hong Kong, Beijing, and Shanghai.
The Singapore office already has five attorneys working in temporary office space. The firm plans to have 15 attorneys in Singapore once a permanent office opens next year.
Gregory Jordan, the firm’s global managing partner, says the move makes sense because Singapore is a leading business center and Reed Smith is "one of the world’s top firms for commodity trading and shipping."
