A Kennesaw pastor has been arrested and charged with child molestation and sexual battery.

John Pinkston, of Dallas, was arrested by Kennesaw Police on Wednesday and is accused of molesting a 6-year-old girl between July 17 and Aug. 22.

Pinkston is the pastor of the independent Congregation of God Seventh Day which has had service at its church at 2751 South Main St., near Cherokee Street, since 1992.

The church is “dedicated to the concept of providing meaningful information behind today’s news and world events in light of Biblical prophecy as a means of warning our people and the world of future events during the 21st century,” according to its website.

Pinkston is accused of touching the 6-year-old after reaching inside her pants.

He was released Wednesday night from jail on $35,000 bond.

obviously the writer of the Thurs article Nikki Wiley failed to do proper research. the first sentence states A Seventh-day Adventist pastor... on the 3rd paragraph identifies the child molester as pastor of Congregation of God Seventh-Day, 2751 South Main St, Kennesaw near Cherokee St. Friday the 30th Ic ould not find a retraction of any info on the pastor. He is not a Seventh-day Adventist Pastor. Would you kindly get your facts straight before accusing a Denomination in your opening paragraph before properly ID the pastor further in the article. It would be appreciated if you post a correction and retraction of your ID incorrectly posted on Thurs 29th. Much Thx
