Orientation set for potential Cobb firefighters

MARIETTA — A three-day orientation has been scheduled by Cobb’s public safety department for people who are interested in becoming entry level firefighters.

The orientation will be at the Department of Public Safety Training Center, 2109 Valor Drive in Marietta on Aug. 7 and 14 from 7 to 9 p.m., and Aug. 9 from 8 a.m.to noon.

Attendees at the Aug. 9 session will be able to see the department’s physical agility test and equipment. Representatives from the county will also explain the hiring process.

The orientation is not required for interested applicants, and the department is not currently taking applications.
