The new tower planned at McCollum Airport in Cobb is a boondoggle. Private air traffic is down tremendously in the last five or so years, and with very few new small aircraft being built and the very old pilot demographics, the decline in General Aviation traffic is not a temporary condition. Look at all of the empty space on the “ramp” at McCollum today — space that was clogged with airplanes five years ago.
There is no need for a new tower, and it is arguable whether McCollum ever needed a tower in the first place.

They must have run out of concrete for more sidewalks.
I believe they might have also run out of actual road shoulders to even pour more concrete on!
Cobb must be the most barren looking county!
10 foot sidewalks everywhere!
Oh, how I long to drive through Denver & Portland,.. where the natural plantings, trees & natural beauty , are what flanks the roadways!
You used to think-come to the suburbs for beauty & tranquility!
Oh,.. no more in Cobb!!
Trees Atlanta has planted 88,000 trees since 1985! Good going, Atlanta!!
Just drive Atlanta Road to Marietta Blvd- you'll see them in action-- they don't even POUR a sidewalk,.. w/out planting trees at the same time!!!
