On Saturday, go hear the rich voice of Georgia country music legend John Berry and his band.

The special Love Songs show is at 7 p.m. at the new Marietta Performing Arts Center on the same campus as Marietta High School. The show benefits the Career Pathways programs with Marietta City Schools.

Career Pathways study is “designed to help each student successfully enter the workforce or transition into post-secondary education opportunities by providing classes with rigorous academic standards, hands-on projects and labs and real-world learning-based opportunities,” according to mhscp.marietta-city.org. The program offers a variety of courses such as culinary arts, graphics, communications, video production, financing, nursing and architecture.

During the fun-filled night, expect to hear Berry, a CMA Award Winner and Grammy Award nominee, sing amazing hits such as “Your Love Amazes Me,” “Kiss Me in the Car,” “She’s Taken a Shine,” and “Standing on the Edge of Goodbye” and much more.

“There will be some great, great love songs. This is a love songs show with it being the day after Valentine’s,” said Berry, whose wife, Robin, sings with his group. The couple resides outside Athens in Watkinsville and they have three children.

“We’re going to have a great time. There’s not much I like more than getting to go sing — to sings songs like this I love to sing,” said Berry, who grew up in Atlanta and is originally from South Carolina.

The evening promises to be an extraordinary night as Berry interacts with the audience. “I am going to sing songs and melt your ding-dang heart,” Berry said.
