Toni Fuller lives life to the fullest. Her recent 55th birthday celebration is a perfect example of doing just that!

Twenty-three of Toni’s Marietta friends and family shared the festive occasion on Feb. 16. The evening began at the Marietta Wine Market with hors d’oeuvres catered by Adriane’s Delectables and wine.

At 7 p.m. the group boarded the Marietta Historic Trolley for a 90-minute ghost tour of Marietta’s Historic sites and cemeteries. Despite the chilly weather and spirits, everyone survived. The party returned to the Marietta Wine Market for more laughter and libations.

Al’s Barbecue catered the meal including delicious ribs, barbecue, Brunswick stew and macaroni and cheese. Luscious birthday cupcakes made by Pattycakes Cupcakes of Marietta were served for dessert. In addition to the cupcakes, a variety of 18 delightful chocolates completed the dessert table to make a “FUN AT 55” chocolate bar. Five-hundred fifty nickels adorned the table as confetti for this double nickels party.

Toni’s talented friend, Meg Crawford, custom designed and handcrafted the party invitations. Gaby McDonald /PG Promotions Inc. of east Cobb embroidered the invitation cover design on birthday T-shirts that were given to each guest.

Toni says she is “going out of Marietta feet-first” since she believes Marietta is where it’s at — the place to live, the place to work, and most importantly, the place to play!

On Maundy Thursday, March 28 at 7:30 p.m., the Worship Arts Ministry of First Baptist Church of Marietta (148 Church St Marietta) will conduct a contemplative service in the chapel. The music featured is from the Taizé (tai-zeh) tradition (www.taize.fr/en). The music is soothing and helps worshipers focus on the theme of the service, which for this particular service is preparation for Good Friday and Easter. The service is a mixture of silence and periods of quiet music.
