Cobb Superior Court Judge Mary Staley immediately sentenced Michael Lee Lightsey, 41, of Marietta, to 15 years, with six years to be served in prison.
Evidence showed that in January, Lightsey threatened to kill three of his relatives and then, when Cobb Sheriff’s Deputies attempted to arrest him, he fired a rifle at the deputies. No one was injured.
Lightsey pleaded guilty to aggravated assault on a peace officer; possession of a firearm during commission of a felony; and three counts of terroristic threats.
Chief Assistant District Attorney Don Geary prosecuted the case.
Lightsey was represented by attorney Lawrence Zimmerman of Atlanta.
