Marietta man dies from injuries in Feb. 7 wreck

A pedestrian-vehicle collision on Feb. 7 on Bells Ferry Road at Old Bells Ferry Road in Marietta became a fatality on March 5 when 47-year-old Wilbur Butts of Marietta died of his injuries.

According to investigators, on Friday, Feb. 7, at approximately 9:15 p.m., the driver of a black 1987 Isuzu Pup was traveling eastbound on Bells Ferry Road at the same time Butts was attempting to cross Bells Ferry Road, outside of the pedestrian crosswalk, according to Cobb Police.

Butts was sent by ambulance to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital after being struck by the tuck.

On Wednesday, March 5, Butts died as a result of the injuries he sustained in the collision.

The driver of the Isuzu has been identified as 49-year-old William Graham of Marietta.

Investigators do not expect to file charges in this case, however, anyone with information about it is asked to call (770) 499-3987.
