Marietta hit-and-run victim identified

MARIETTA – Marietta Police have released the identity of a young Woodstock man who was the victim of a deadly suspected hit-and-run at approximately 10:30 p.m. Wednesday night.

When arriving to the scene, Marietta Police found the body of Selvin Lopez-Lorenzo in the middle of the northbound lanes of Interstate 75.

Investigators suspect Lopez-Lorenzo, 20, was trying to cross I-75 at Delk Road when he was struck by an unknown type of vehicle, said Officer David Baldwin of Marietta Police Department.

The case is still active. Marietta Police are asking anyone with information on this crash to contact Officer Stephen Miller at (770) 794-5356.
