MARIETTA - Early Thursday morning patrol officers found 13 guitars, two amplifiers and various guitar equipment in a wooded area near Lockheed Elementary School off Merritt Road.

Detectives were able to identify the owner of the equipment through company labels and he was notified. Police learned after talking to the owner that the equipment, which was valued at over $100,000, was stolen two days earlier from his house.

Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to contact Marietta Police at (770) 794-5300.

After seeing pictures of a few of the guitars posted on fox 5, I can guarantee you those guys do not come close to totaling $100,000, unless they only decided to publish pictures of the least valuable ones.

If I was Marietta PD, I'd call CCPD and ask about the usual property crime suspects on Barnes Mill Rd. and an apartment complex which is frequently featured in the property crime reports near Roswell and Barnes Mill.
