Last week, Vinings Bank in Smyrna presented its annual barbecue that coincided with Community Banking Month observed in April. Robin Hancox; Sen. The group of 50 raised $1,500 for the cause. Debbie Barnett, Stewart Brown, Judy and Mike Boyce, Peggy Carlson, Mike Chalverus, Pat Chilton, Katherine Dennis, Alice Hern, Melinda Hubbard, Sally and Chad Irwin, Pat Morris, Kathy McManus, Judi and Bob Snelson, Lyn and John Steinhilber, Claudia and Robert Worley, and Kathy and Neely Young were some of those on the scene. nnn The men of St. Andrew United Methodist Church of Marietta invite golf enthusiasts to join church members, family members and friends at their 16th annual golf outing on May 20 at Eagle Watch Golf Club, 3055 Eagle Watch Drive, Woodstock. The fundraiser helps less fortunate families in our area by providing groceries, including turkeys or hams, for 75 families during Thanksgiving and Christmas as well as presents to 200 children. The event will follow a Ft. Lauderdale Scramble format. Golfers will receive a gift package. Door prizes will also be awarded to lucky winners at lunch following the competition. Prizes will be awarded to the first place team in each flight. Additional prizes will be awarded for the male and female player who makes the shot closest to the pin on par three holes – Hole 14 for men and Hole 17 for women. Players will also have an opportunity to win a major gift by scoring a hole in one on Hole number 4. Cost is $95 per individual player and $15 for individual lunch only.
