A Powder Springs man is in jail after police say he attacked them during a traffic stop and attempted to flee.

Troy Lazone Randolph Jr. was charged with felony obstruction and assault for trying to escape with one hand cuffed and using the handcuffs as a weapon during his attempt.

According to an arrest warrant, Powder Springs police officers were in the process of arresting Randolph on charges of driving on a suspended license when he fought with them and slashed at them with one cuffed hand. One officer had injuries to the face, and the other was injured in the hand.

Randolph then allegedly attempted to flee into the woods.

He was charged with felony obstruction, two counts of felony aggravated assault of an officer, driving with a suspended license and felony criminal interference with government property.

He is being held in Cobb County Jail without bond.
