Man charged in two July 20 robberies

Trace Darvin Woods is charged with felony armed robbery and a misdemeanor count of theft by receiving after police say he committed two robberies July 20.

The first robbery reportedly took place near an apartment complex at 34 Garrison Road, Marietta, where victims were held up at gunpoint. Within the next hour, another armed robbery took place on Atlanta Street.

Victims of the second robbery told police the offender was driving a white 2013 Chrsytler. Police officers searched the vehicle, driven by Woods and rented by his father, and found a wallet-sized photo of one of the victims in the vehicle.

Police say a passenger fled the vehicle and fit the description given of one of the suspects in the armed robbery.
