AUSTELL — A Mableton man is accused of throwing a rock weighing approximately 20 pounds through the windshield of a car just after 3 a.m. on July 28.

On Sept. 22, Michael Paul Douglas was arrested by the Austell Police Department on a felony count of aggravated assault.

According the warrant, Douglas threw the rock through a car windshield outside his home on Miller Road near C.H. James Parkway, while it was being driven by Isaiha Mack.

The rock hit Mack in the head and face, “causing severe injury … requiring surgery to repair his sinuses,” the warrant stated.

Douglas admitted to throwing the rock during an interview at the Austell Police Department, according to the warrant, and was not given bond since he was already on probation.
