WARNER ROBINS, Ga. (AP) — A Macon man has been charged in the beating and stabbing death of a Houston County woman.

The Telegraph newspaper reports that 30-year-old Brandon Sharod Davis turned himself in to authorities Wednesday. He is charged with felony murder in the slaying of 26-year-old Chassity LaShundra Lester, who was found dead Tuesday.

It was not immediately clear whether Davis had a lawyer.

Lester’s family says she and Davis have a 3-year-old daughter together.

Houston County sheriff’s Capt. Jon Holland says an autopsy found that Lester died from blunt force trauma and multiple wounds from a sharp object.

Lester’s family says they last saw her Monday evening when she borrowed her mother’s car to go to Macon to meet Davis because he had agreed to pay some child support.
