Mableton care worker arrested after alleged abuse of patient

A Mableton man has been arrested after he allegedly abused a patient at a care facility in Smyrna.

Edward Perez Neal, 49, an employee of the Choices 2 day program for mentally challenged and disabled adults, is accused of harming a client of the facility. According to the arrest warrant, Neal kicked the victim three times in the groin because he wanted the victim, who was seated on the floor, to stand up. The incident was stopped by another support worker at the facility.

Neal was arrested and charged with felony adult/elderly physically or mentally incapacitated and misdemeanor simple battery. He was released on $3,500 bond.
