Acworth candidates:

Mayor

Tommy Allegood has served as mayor since 2002.

Tim Houston is a native of Acworth and the pastor and founder of Joshua Gospel Tabernacle.

Post 4

Tim Richardson is a graduate of the Acworth Police Department’s Citizens Police Academy.

Austell candidates:

Post 1

Trudie Causey has held the position for four years.

Ollie Clemons, Jr. has lived in Austell for eight years and works for the U.S. Postal Service.

Ward 1

Kirsten Anderson has held the position for eight years.

Ward 3

Chris Djonis grew up in Georgia and runs a construction business, Djonis General Contractors.

Martin Standard is the current representative for Ward 3.

Randy P. Green was raised in Austell and has owned two businesses in the city starting in the 1980s.

Ann F. Turner moved to Austell in 1995 and runs a tailoring business out of her home.

Kennesaw candidates:

Post 3

Leonard Church is a former two-term mayor of Kennesaw.

Bruce Jenkins has lived in Cobb County for 27 years and held the council post since 2005.

Briggett Washington is the CEO and founder of Cobb Alzheimer’s Foundation.

Post 4

Matt Riedemann was sworn into the council in July to fill the late Councilman Bill Thrash’s seat.

Debra Williams is a member of the city Planning Commission.

Post 5

Jeff Duckett was elected to the post in 2009 and is the liaison to the Parks & Recreation Department.

Jim Sebastian is a member of the Kennesaw Citizens Advisory Committee.

Powder Springs:

Ward 1

Cheryl Sarvis is a retired school principal who is serving her first term on the council.

Ward 2

Albert Lee Thurman has represented Ward 2 since 2002.

Ward 3

Nancy Hudson served on the Coach George E. Ford Center Board of Directors.

Marietta candidates for mayor, City Council:

Mayor

Charley Levinson is a lifelong resident of Cobb County who works in the printing industry.

Steve “Thunder” Tumlin is a lawyer who was born and raised in Marietta and has been mayor since 2010.

Ward 1

Stuart Fleming is a Marietta Board of Education member.

Annette Paige Lewis has represented the ward since 2006 and is the school board liaison.

Ward 2

Grif Chalfant has held the seat since 2006 and is chairman of the Economic Development committee.

Ward 3

Johnny Walker is a colleague of current councilman Johnny Sinclair at Harry Norman Realtors.

Ward 4

Marshall Dye is the owner of Court Makers Inc., Georgia’s largest tennis court-manufacturer.

Andy Morris represented the ward from 2002-2005 and won a special election in July 2012.

Ward 5

Anthony Coleman is the Vision for Souls Family Worship Center associate minister.

Doug Martin served in the U.S. Marines and was born and raised in Marietta.

Ward 6

Michelle Cooper Kelly has 20 years in managing regulatory compliance for Coca-Cola, Gatorade and Anheuser-Busch.

Ward 7

Philip Goldstein is a commercial real estate owner who has served continuously on council since 1980.
