MARIETTA — Marietta City Schools Superintendent Dr. Emily Lembeck will host “Coffee Talk” — a community dialogue, at 7 p.m. Jan. 14, at Hickory Hills Elementary School. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call (770) 422-3500, ext. 231. Hickory Hills Elementary is located at 500 Redwood Drive, Marietta. Spanish-language interpreter services are provided.

“It is important to provide regular opportunities throughout the school year where I can share district accomplishments, new strategic initiatives and our progress overall,” Lembeck said. “Continuing dialogue with the community, parents and guardians of our students has been one of my goals since becoming Superintendent. Coffee Talks help me to keep that conversation going and parent/community engagement strong.”

The Arts Academy at Hickory Hills Elementary provides kindergarteners through fifth-grade students a comprehensive, sequential academic program that incorporates the performing and visual arts in the teaching of core courses. The program connects the arts to all content areas and offers hands-on learning designed to meet and exceed Common Core State Standards.
