For example, why is the left so selective in what they pick out of the Bible to support their aims? Notice for example his recent “What would Jesus have us do?” column that shows his ignorance of the fact that Jesus seeks the heart of individuals, not the collective. Christians are individuals who freely honor their Lord and Savior with their tithes and offerings, not their taxes. You cannot delegate that duty to the government without great risk to freedom.
Every government entitlement creates an obligation for someone to pay the taxes to meet that obligation. Ask Kevin and his kind if he thinks tax money from the federal or state government is free. Someone paid it and the IRS is ruthless in collecting it. As taxes rise to support ever-increasing entitlements, government becomes more energetic in its enforcement to extract wealth and moves from being our protector to our slave master.
Who gets to be the slave master? I would bet that Foley would argue that he and his kind are perfectly suited to handle the job. They think they are smarter than you. (But not smart enough.) They feel morally superior to you. (For not good reason.) They are certain that with their direction and your wealth they can make the world a better place. (For them.)
Kevin and his leftist buddies are so certain of their intellectual and moral superiority that they feel no remorse at forcing you to conform to their view of what is good for you and so their good intentions always lead to tyranny and despotism.
There was a time when people of conservative views could just move, but technology and globalization have closed that escape. Conservatives are going to have to learn how to confront the left or learn to conform, and that will be the end of freedom.
