Lee to speak during Mableton Day Salute

County Chairman Tim Lee will speak May 17 as part of the Mableton Day Salute to the Armed Forces in recognition of Armed Forces Day, which also falls on Mableton Day. The event will take place on the Main Stage at the Mable House Complex at 5239 Floyd Road in Mableton.

As part of the closing events at Mableton Day, District Commissioner Lisa Cupid will award the Community Spirit Trophy and cash awards to the schools and nonprofits that do the most to promote their community and Mableton Day. The group with the most points will win $1,000 and the traveling Mableton Day Community Spirit Trophy.

The 9th Annual Mableton Day community celebration kicks off at 8 a.m. May 17 with the Mableton 5K, followed by the Mableton Jr. Fun Run at 9 a.m. Following the races, there will be entertainment on the main stage, food vendors, tours of the historic Mable House, arts and crafts demonstrations, Kids Corner activities and a car show.
