Learn gardening, canning tips on Thursday

UGA Cobb County Cooperative Extension will preent a seminar titled “From Your Garden to Your Table,” on Thursday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the extension office. Attendees can learn gardening tips including planning, soil testing and mulching, as well as canning tips. Registration is required and begins at 6 p.m. Cost is $10 at the door. Light refreshments will be provided.

Museum of art plans Martinis and Music Friday

The Marietta/Cobb Museum of Art plans a Martinis and Music event featuring Boozer McClure and Friends on Friday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the museum. The American Academy of Equine Art will display the exhibitions and light hors d’oeuvres will be served. An auction will benefit Hickory Hills Elementary. Admission is free to members and $8 for guests.

See the ‘worst movie ever made’ at ‘Creature Feature’

Next Stage Theatre invites the public to its “Creature Feature” on Friday at 10 p.m. at The Annex.

Attendees to the inaugural “Creature Feature” will see director Ed Wood’s “Plan 9 From Outer Space,” which has been deemed the worst movie ever made.

A pre-screening sideshow will be presented by The Carnival of Doom’s friends Captain & Maybelle of “America’s Got Talent.”

Doors open at 9 p.m. Tickets are $12. The event is for those 18 and older.

Learn about trees during Sip n’ Stroll on Friday

Marietta Tree Keepers will present its Sip n’ Stroll on Friday at 5:30 p.m., beginning at 519 Campbell Hill St. in Marietta. The event will feature a special neighborhood tour with tree experts, identifying common opportunities and issues relating to trees. Participants will walk down Hillside Drive and Campbell Hilll Streets in Marietta.

The BYOB event is free and open to the public. The event will be canceled in case of rain. Parking is available at Lewis Park at the tennis court or at the dog park. Sign in at 519 Campbell Hill St. where the tour will begin.
