On Saturday, Lassiter High School’s band program will have their eighth annual Spring Recycling Day.

Each year, Lassiter’s band teams up with Federal Recyclers and A-1 Shreds to host one of the most beneficial spring cleaning events in Cobb. People who wish to participate can bring a vehicle filled with miscellaneous items that they want to get rid of, and the students, parents, and other volunteers leading the event will dispose of the items. The band is requesting a minimum donation of $10 per vehicle that uses their services this weekend.

All the proceeds go to the Lassiter Band, and the funds help decrease the cost of participation for the families involved in the program. The money raised goes toward paying the staff members of the program, funding clinics for student improvement and learning, and maintenance/repairs of worn out instruments for both the Marching Band and Concert Band.

The event will take place in the front parking lot of Lassiter High School, which is located at 2601 Shallowford Road.
