ACWORTH — The person drowned in Lake Acworth on Sunday is Thomas King of Marietta.
Acworth Police went to South Shore Park in Acworth on Sunday at 1:40 p.m. in response to calls from witnesses saying an adult male was paddling on a paddle board on the lake when he was seen going underwater.
The Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office has not given the cause of death.
King rented the paddle board and accessories from a local sporting goods store and was not wearing a life jacket. The Acworth Police Department wants to remind the public of the importance o f life vests when on the water.
