On March 21, Cobb Police officers were dispatched to the home of Scott Ash off Jim Owens Road, a residential area south of Cobb Parkway west of Kennesaw.
According to the warrant, the officers were conducting a “welfare check,” a law enforcement call to investigate the well-being of a resident, based on information from Ash’s ex-girlfriend in Pennsylvania.
“When I arrived on scene and checked the exterior of the residence, I discovered that the rear sliding-glass door was visibly open,” Officer A. Porter wrote in the warrant.
According to the warrant, two officers went inside the home and found four suspected marijuana plants growing in 5-gallon buckets.
Ash was not at home at the time of the search by Cobb Police, the warrant said. He was arrested March 23 and faces a felony charge of purchase, possession, manufacture and distribution or sale of marijuana.
Ash was released that same day after posting a $20,000 bond.
