Barbara Stanfield Jensen, 63, of Smyrna, passed away August 10, 2013. After being diagnosed in 2007 with terminal brain cancer, and prior to her passing, she became one of the longest living patients, world-wide, to survive this aggressive disease. Barbara was born in Macon, GA. to Doris Davis Stanfield and the late Robert Franklin Stanfield. She attended McEvoy High School and Georgia State University. On January 10, 1969, she married Charles (Charlie) Clark Jensen, of Forsyth. She was a long-term employee of Southern Bell, AT&T, Lucent Technologies, and last served as a Regional Services Coordinator for Avaya Inc. She was a member of Roswell Street Baptist Church in Marietta, Ga. Barbara is survived by her husband of 44 years, Charlie Jensen, their children, Erik Jensen and his wife Ruth and grandsons, Hines and Troy, of Smyrna, Ga.; Kara Jensen Beaubouef and her husband Rodney, and grandson, Bonham, of Sugar Hill, Ga.; Zachary Jensen of Mableton, Ga.; and a brother, Wiley Stanfield, of Gray, Ga. Funeral services will be held at Monroe County Memorial Chapel at 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 12, 2013, with burial in Forsyth City Cemetery. The Reverend Jack Spillers will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family extends their sincere appreciation to Dr. Marvin Rachelefsky, Dr. Daniel Moore, Rosemary Adler, R.N., Dr. Mark McLaughlin, Joyce Askins, CNA, and the Wellstar Homecare Hospice team.
