MARIETTA — A fire that destroyed an industrial building in Marietta on Friday was not intentionally set, authorities said Monday.

The investigation continues into what caused the fire at AmRep, a business that makes professional-grade chemical products on Industrial Park Road near Cobb Parkway and Allgood Road. Representatives from the company have been “very cooperative in the investigation,” said Officer David Baldwin of the Marietta Police Department.

Baldwin said Monday investigators are still working to determine a cause, but they have been able to rule out arson or foul play.

No injuries were reported in Friday’s blaze. Baldwin said investigators were able to talk to AmRep employees at the scene as firefighters worked to extinguish the flames.
