Cobb County jail inmate Darrell Douglas Mclain of Marietta has been charged with felony escape after police say he didn’t show up for work on Sept. 15.

According to a warrant, Mclain was granted permission to participate in the Cobb Sheriff’s Office’s work release program after his original arrest in mid-May, but he is now denied bond because he failed to report to work and is therefore considered a “flight risk.”

The warrant states that Mclain was supposed to show up at O’Charley’s in Kennesaw on Sept. 15 at 4 p.m. but never did. Deputies arrested him the next day on new charges.

He was arrested in May on charges of possession of methamphetamine, driving on a suspended license, hit and run, following too closely and a probation violation, according to jail records.
