Hinojosa should leave now, not later

DEAR EDITOR:

I have been a very active parent and citizen regarding the state of education in Cobb County, most recently criticizing Dr. Hinojosa every 30 minutes on 106.7 FM yesterday.

Having served on the Facilities & Technology Committee during Superintendent Fred Sanderson’s transition period, I strongly ask the board to request that Dr. Hinojosa vacate his position now.

Having a lame-duck superintendent at the helm during one of the most challenging fiscal debates this county will face will be a distraction. I believe Mr. Sanderson was a distraction to the new superintendent search process when he remained at the CCSD during his transition period.

Dr. Hinojosa’s lack of leadership during the storm on Tuesday was a disgrace. There is much work to be done and his lack of leadership is appalling.

When I first heard Dr. Hinojosa had been hired in Cobb County, I did a simple Google search to read articles and letters about how unpopular he was in Texas. I trust the board will not make the same mistake.

Please send Dr. Hinojosa back to Texas on a one-way ticket tomorrow so there is no baggage left to clutter the central office.

Kimberley Euston

Ms. Euston- I fully concur with your assessment. One only has to look to corporate America to know that when a CEO tenures their resignation because they are taking a position with another company (not retiring), the CEO is IMMEDIATELY released.

I know that technically the Cobb County School District is not a corporation, but please do NOT act like a typical dysfunctional government. Tell Hinojosa to pack his bags early and head for those Texas tamales. Bye!
