Homer C. Hammontree, Jr., 84, of Marietta died Friday, April 5, 2013. Funeral Services will be Sunday at 2:00pm in the chapel of Marietta Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Bellamy officiating. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park. Mr. Hammontree was a native of Chatsworth before moving to Marietta. He retired in 1992 as Tool and Dye Supervisor for Lockheed. He was a member of Sumach Lodge #55 F&AM of Chatsworth; Constantine Commandery No. 26, Knights Templar, Marietta. He was a member of the Charity Daylight Lodge #754; Grand Council of Georgia R&SM, Marietta Council No. 74. Grand Chapter of Georgia R.A.M., Cherokee Chapter #13. He was also a member of Yaarab Temple and Kennesaw Mountain Shrine Club where he currently served as Lt. Col. for the Motor Corps Unit. He was a member of First Baptist Church Woodstock. Mr. Hammontree was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Hammontree and his son, Michael Hammontree. Survivors include daughter, Susan (Danny) Duke of Acworth; Grandson, Shannon (Christina) Hammontree of Dalton; Granddaughter, Amanda (Timothy) Davis of Dalton; Great Grandsons, Jathan Smith and Michael Anthony Hammontree; sister, Marie Keith of Dalton. Contributions may be made to Yaarab Temple “Hospital Fund” C/O Kennesaw Mountain Shrine Club, P O Box 496, Marietta, GA 30061. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 until 8:00pm at Marietta Funeral Home, 915 Piedmont Road, Marietta, GA 30066. Online condolences may be expressed at:
