MARIETTA — Technical glitches with six of the 70 voting machines in Cobb delayed final results from Tuesday’s primary election, says Cobb Elections Director Janine Eveler.

Eveler said the trouble was with the memory cards in the voting machines stationed at North Star Church off Blue Springs Road in Kennesaw not uploading correctly.

The Cobb Elections team had to manually process the 470 ballots, Eveler said.

The Secretary of State’s office, charged with posting results online, was also lagging in showing the last updates from Cobb precincts.

Eveler said her office had sent several uploads in a period from 10:45 p.m. to just before midnight, but the Cobb results were not being updated.

“They are swamped as everybody else,” Eveler said about the lack of communication between Cobb and the Secretary of State’s office.
