“The whole idea behind Georgia Crafted is to allow people to experience and to try out products made by local Georgia artisans. The products are in a variety of categories. We do everything from gourmet food to bath and body products to handmade stationary to art in some form and even local music,” Zwigart said.
Launched in September 2013, Georgia Crafted is a monthly subscription gift box company. “Each month we are curating products made by local Georgia artisans. Everything is Georgia made. We package them up and ship them to our subscribers once a month,” she said.
In addition to the monthly subscription service, Georgia Crafted offers prepackaged gift boxes that ship within 48 hours for different occasions such as “A Bit of Southern Hospitality,” “A new Mom Gift Box,” “Chocolate Lovers Gift Box,” “A Bit of Luck to Y’all.” (Patrons can also assemble their own boxes from individual items for sale.)
“They’re all around a theme. They’re, of course, all Georgia made,” Zwigart said.
She and her husband, Brad, have two children.
“The idea is to promote local Georgia artisans to get their products into the hands of people that have not heard of them before or maybe they’ve heard of them but have not had the opportunity to try them out. We want to promote the concept of shopping local,” she said.
“With the way the economy is, it’s important to do everything you can to help sustain your local economy,” she said.
Georgia Crafted helps local people promote their passions.
“You have these artisans who are out there, and many of these people have full-time jobs. But they’re also trying to push their passion whether it’s the cookies they make or the crackers they make or whatever the product may be,” she said.
“They’re trying to make a living. They’re trying to pursue their passion. Our idea is to try to promote that and support them and to teach people to support your smaller artisans, local folks, local businesses,” Zwigart said.
Boxes can be subscribed for one month, three months, six months or recurring membership. Boxes are shipped the 15th of the following month.
“We really want to be the go-to company for buying gifts. Let us take one thing off your plate. Whatever it may be, come to Georgia Crafted. Buy locally made products. We say we curate only the best,” Zwigart said.
