Billy Eugene Grice, age 82, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014. A Memorial Service will be held 12 Noon on Wednesday at North Metro Church in Marietta with Rev. Larry Ragan officiating. Bill was born on July 20, 1932 in Powder Springs, Georgia. Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He was a lifelong resident of Cobb County. Bill served in the army during the Korean War. He was a member of North Metro Church. 

Bill was a leader in the electrical contracting business and was owner of Grice and Associates for over 45 years. Bill served as the Chairman of the Georgia State Electrical Board as well as Chairman of the Cobb County Electrical Board. Bill was past President of BYO, a golfing association established in 1942 in the electrical industry. 

Bill was active in many civic and charitable organizations throughout his life. He was a very generous and loving gentleman helping many in need during his life. His employees often affectionately called him “Gentle Ben”. 

Bill is survived by his wife and high school sweet heart, Anita; two daughters, Kim Finlayson and Joy Kirkland; three grandsons, Andrew Kirkland, William Kirkland and Cole Bobo; sister, Mary Moon; several nieces and nephews. Bill is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Lizzie Mae. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be sent to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), 3525 Piedmont Road NE, Bldg. 6, Ste. 300, Atlanta, 30305. Donations may be made over the phone 404-420-5990. Family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta. 770
