Franklin Road checkpoint nets arrests

MARIETTA — Marietta police say a safety checkpoint on Franklin Road on June 20 netted 25 arrests.

Along with members of the city’s police force, the checkpoint was conducted by officials with the Georgia State Patrol, Cobb County Police, Georgia Department of Corrections, Atlanta Police and Marietta Probation.

Marietta police say the arrests ranged from traffic and drug offenses to locating wanted individuals.

During the checkpoint, authorities also issued 55 citations, which included traffic and DUI offenses, identified three DUIs and had four K-9 alerts.
