William C. Eggleston, 88 of Kennesaw died Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Wellstar Community Hospice in Marietta after battling cancer. Mr. Eggleston was born on April 12, 1925 in Springfield, IL. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army in WWII. He graduated from St. Louis University in 1949 and retired from Fiat Allis Corporation in Carol Stream, IL in 1979 and then relocated to Georgia. He is survived by his wife, Norma Eggleston; 3 sons, Fred (Pamela) Eggleston, Mark (Marie) Eggleston and Dan Eggleston; 1 brother, Richard (Sue) Eggleston; 2 grandsons, Joshua and Max; numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Friday, January 3, 2014 at 1:30 pm in the chapel of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Kennesaw. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Springfield, IL and his final resting place will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Riverton, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the association of choice. Medford-Peden Funeral Home in Marietta is in charge of arrangements.
